More lessons from my boys......

I sometimes think that the only reason God blessed me with children is because He can use them as a teaching tool.

Today I was upstairs putting away some laundry and made a pit stop to the restroom.  Jaydon was downstairs playing, but as all moms know, as soon as you hit the toilet someone decides they need you NOW.  So I soon began to hear the beckoning.  "MOM!!!  MOM!!!!  MOM!!!"  I yelled back, "Jaydon, I'm upstairs."  This went on a few times.  However, I realized that every time I yelled back, he was yelling "MOM" at the same time and couldn't hear me tell him where I was.  Finally he stopped yelling long enough to hear me tell him I was upstairs.  As soon as he heard me, he calmed down and stopped yelling and came upstairs.

Isn't it funny how sometimes we get important insight in the restroom (or at least I do).  As this vocal bantering was occurring between mom and son, I began to hear my Father.  I do the same thing as His daughter.   "GOD!!!  GOD!!!  GOD!!!  Where are you?  What is going on here, what do I do?  Why is this happening to me?  GOD!!!  WHERE ARE YOU????"  I am spending so much time yelling, worrying, fretting, questioning etc. that I don't stop carrying on long enough to hear Him.  To hear God say, "I'm right here.  I've got you.  Everything is going to be fine.  Just come this way and I will lead you through......"  God wants us to call on Him.  He wants us to tell Him what is bothering us and concerning us and ask for His help and direction.   But sometimes I think God desires for us to be still and know that He is GOD.  Be quiet, be still and just listen to Him.  Listen to the words of peace and comfort He has to impart.  Listen to the direction He wants to lead.

Dear Lord, please help me to seek you in all things, but learn to be quiet long enough to hear your voice.  Amen

Till the next restroom lesson.......... Blessings!!
